Job summary

Virginia Heart is seeking a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (Cardiac PET/CT) to perform high-quality Cardiac PET/CT and Cardiac CT imaging at Falls Church and Leesburg locations. The role requires state licensure and CNMT or ARRT(N) certification, with cross-training options for PET/CT and flexibility to cover multiple sites.

Qualifications

• Certified Nuclear Medicine Technologist (CNMT) or ARRT(N) is required.
• BLS certified.
• CT Certification or willingness to obtain within 6 months of hire.
• Experience in PET imaging is preferred; cross-training available.
• Experience in cardiac PET is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of radiation safety and imaging protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Must cover multiple locations to support patient care.
• Must have or obtain Virginia state license for outpatient setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-quality Cardiac PET/CT scans with patient safety and comfort.
• Perform Cardiac CT imaging where applicable.
• Administer and monitor radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents.
• Apply advanced clinical skills to execute imaging procedures and manage patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, technologists, and leadership to ensure patient care.
• Maintain records and stay updated on PET imaging advancements.
• Adhere to quality control procedures per protocols and guidelines.
• Cover CT-only, PET-only, and possibly SPECT studies when needed.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks to maintain department efficiency.
