The Mount Sinai Health System seeks a qualified Perfusionist to operate extracorporeal circulation equipment during cardiac surgeries and critical care. You will monitor physiologic variables, deliver medications, manage temperature, and respond to emergencies in OR and CICU.

Required are a perfusion technology degree, NY licensure with ABCVP certification, and at least 1 year of perfusion experience. A NYS Limited Permit may be needed for hires outside the state.

Formación

• Bachelor's degree in Perfusion Technology or Bachelor degree with a Certificate in Perfusion Technology from an accredited program.
• 1 year experience as a Perfusionist (including clinical rotations).
• New York State licensure and certification as a Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion.
• NYS Limited Permit must be obtained before treatment begins; up to one year to obtain full license (for hires outside NYS).

Responsabilidades

• Consults with the physician for equipment and technique selection for surgery.
• Delivers blood products, anesthetic agents or medications and controls patient temperature during surgery.
• Monitors physiological functions during surgery and in CICU (anticoagulation, blood gases, electrolytes, blood collection).
• Responds to on-call notification for open heart surgical emergencies in OR, CICU, or hospital areas.
• Mentors less experienced Perfusionists.
• Makes recommendations for new equipment and maintains inventory.
