Job summary

Banner University Medical Center-Phoenix seeks a Certified Patient Care Assistant to join our Medical PCU unit. This role provides routine patient care, supports daily living activities, and helps maintain accurate medical records during night shifts from 7:00 pm to 7:30 am.

You will collaborate with licensed staff, monitor patient status, assist with procedures such as vital signs collection and specimen handling, and ensure compassionate, quality care for cardiac and complex patients.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Current BLS certification required.
• Current CNA in state of practice required.
• 1 year medical clerical or hospital setting preferred.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Provides routine patient care to promote comfort and support the overall plan of care.
• Collects vital signs, input/output, and data; documents in the medical record.
• Recognizes changes in patient status and reports to a licensed professional.
• Assists with procedures and uses equipment under supervision (e.g., blood draws, EKG).
• Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support department operations.
• Maintains patient records, ensures chart forms are filed and accessible.
• Maintains supplies and assists with ordering; tracks equipment and inventory.
• May assist with patient transport and OR turnover as assigned.
