UPMC Presbyterian is seeking full-time Cardiac Transporters to support the Transportation Services Department in Oakland, PA. Expect a fast-paced environment with approximately seven miles of walking per shift.

Qualifications

• Must rotate shifts, including 24/7 coverage.
• CPR/Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• CPR or BLS certification must be current or obtained within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, equipment, supplies, specimens, and morgue patients via prescribed vehicles between patient units and departments.
• Safely transfer patients in and out of hospital beds, stretchers, and wheelchairs.
• Monitor patient heart rate, respiratory rate, and pulse oximetry during transport.
• Maintain a caring, professional attitude with patients, visitors, staff, and coworkers.
• Rotate shifts to cover 24/7, including nights and weekends.
• Follow departmental procedures and exercise good judgment in prioritizing tasks.
• May transport medications between departments as needed.
