Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health is seeking a Surgical Tech to prepare the operating room and assist the surgical team across a variety of procedures. You will set up equipment, assist with sterile field, and ensure patient safety throughout the case.

You will collaborate with the OR team, adapt quickly, and support complex surgeries, contributing to patient healing and optimal outcomes in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• Graduation from ARC-ST accredited surgical technology program.
• Surgical Technologist Registration: WA, upon hire.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) through AHA, upon hire.
• Graduation from an accredited nursing program may substitute for surgical tech program, and RN License: WA, upon hire.

Responsibilities

• Prepares the operating room and patient for the surgical procedure using aseptic techniques; sets up sterile equipment, instruments, drapes and solutions; assists with scrubbing and preparation of sterile field.
• Helps the surgeon and assistants with gowns and gloves.
• Assists with patient positioning and draping under direction of a qualified practitioner.
• Assists with patient comfort and safety measures under direction of a qualified practitioner.
• Transfers and positions patient to operating room table and covers with sterile drapes.
• Assists anesthesia personnel as needed under the direction of a qualified practitioner.
