Job summary

Kaiser Permanente in Anaheim, CA seeks a Surgical Technologist to support the cardiac surgery team. Under direct supervision, you scrub, pass instruments, and help prepare rooms and equipment for procedures.

You will assist with patient positioning, specimen handling, and emergency coordination. Responsibilities include assisting physicians during procedures, maintaining sterility, training new staff, and ensuring readiness of supplies.

Qualifications

• One year of operating room experience scrubbing within the last two years required.
• Surgical Technologist Certificate within 3 months of hire from National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Assist physician during minor surgical procedures.
• Assist in obtaining tissue specimens.
• Assist physician in developing new techniques and procedures.
• Follow standard infection control procedures.
• Lift patients.
• Prepare and position patients for diagnostic test and medical procedures.
• Respond to emergencies (stat pages, Code Blue, etc.).
• Shave and apply antiseptic solutions to patient skin areas.
• Assist in cardiovascular procedures.
• Assist physician with inpatient pacemaker procedures.
• Set up instruments and surgical trays.
• Maintain sterilized supplies, instruments and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Remove and inventory equipment and supplies after surgical procedures.
• Clean and sterilize instrument, supplies and equipment.
