Job summary

Medical City Las Colinas is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist (PRN) to join the operating room team. You will scrub in, assist with complex cardiac procedures, and uphold sterile technique while supporting surgeons and staff.

The role emphasizes leading prep activities, mentoring newer technologists, and maintaining strict infection prevention standards in a high-stakes surgical setting.

Qualifications

• Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date
• High School Graduate / GED
• (CST) Certified Surgical Technologist, or (TS-C) Tech in Surgery - Certified
• 1 year experience Required

Responsibilities

• Leading surgical preparation by organizing suites, equipment, and instruments to ensure readiness for every procedure
• Scrubbing in and supporting surgeons through complex cardiac surgeries, anticipating needs and maintaining a safe, sterile environment
• Guiding and mentoring surgical technologists, serving as a role model while training new team members and reinforcing best practices
• Overseeing quality and safety by managing counts, handling specimens, and ensuring compliance with infection prevention standards
• Driving teamwork and efficiency through effective communication, rapid problem-solving, and support for on-call and emergency cases

Education

High School Graduate / GED

Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) or Tech in Surgery - Certified (TS-C)
