Job summary

Mercy Gilbert Medical Center in Gilbert, Arizona is seeking a Monitor Tech to continuously observe and analyze patients' cardiac rhythms, detect arrhythmias, and promptly report changes to the nursing team. You will monitor EKG strips, measure intervals, and document findings to support patient safety.

The role requires sharp observation, knowledge of cardiac rhythms, and the ability to work under pressure.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Basic EKG class or successful completion of the basic rhythm test.
• American Heart Association.
• Basic Life Support - CPR.

Responsibilities

• Maintains continuity of care by processing patient records accurately and promptly from admission to discharge.
• Uses current information system.
• Constantly observes all monitors and promptly notifies Charge Nurse or RN responsible for patient rhythm and / or invasive waveform changes.
• Functions efficiently during emergency situations.
• Able to run and troubleshoot monitor equipment, reporting any malfunction to Charge RN, Clinical Supervisor or Director.
• Obtains documentation strips at required times of all EKG and applicable waveforms.

Job Summary and Responsibilities

As a Monitor Tech, you will be responsible for continuous observation and analysis of patients' cardiac rhythms to detect and report changes.

Every day you will meticulously monitor EKG strips, identify arrhythmias, measure intervals, and promptly communicate critical findings to nursing staff and healthcare providers, ensuring accurate documentation.

To be successful, you will demonstrate sharp observational skills, a thorough understanding of cardiac rhythms, and the ability to act quickly and precisely under pressure, crucial for patient safety and timely intervention.

Job Requirements

• One (1) year Monitor Tech experience in an acute care setting

• Previous experience with a patient care module or personal computer
