Job summary

Emanate Health in Covina, CA is seeking a Monitor Tech to observe and interpret patients' cardiac rhythms and support the nursing station with non-clinical duties. You will greet staff, transcribe orders, and assist with admission, discharge and transfer processes.

Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (preferred), knowledge of medical terminology, and BLS certification. EKG interpretation class is required within 30 days of hire/transfer.

Responsibilities

• Observe and interpret patients' cardiac rhythm status and notify RN of variances.
• Greet staff at nurses' station and direct questions to appropriate personnel.
• Transcribe medical orders.
• Perform unit-based non-clinical duties related to admission, discharge and transfer of patients.
• Organize activities at the nurses' station.
• Accept medications from pharmacy or tube station and dispense to the charge nurse or assigned nurse.
