Job summary

St. Luke’s Hospital is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Observer to monitor a designated group of patients on cardiac monitors, identify rhythms and dysrhythmias, document observations, and communicate findings to the Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse, or Physician responsible for care.

Under supervision and in alignment with Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies, you will contribute to teamwork and patient safety, supporting our mission and values.

Qualifications

• Observes designated group of patients on cardiac monitors.
• Documents observations accurately and timely.

Responsibilities

• Monitor a designated group of patients on cardiac monitors.
• Interpret observed cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Document observations and communicate with Charge Nurse, RN, or physician.
• Adhere to Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies; promote teamwork.

Position Summary:

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs the function of Cardiac MonitorObserver. This includes: observing a designated group of patients on cardiac monitors during a designated time frame, identifying and interpreting cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias,documenting this activity and communicating these observations to the Charge Nurse orRegistered Nurse and/or Physician responsible for the care of the patient. Is responsible foradhering to all established Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies and forpromotingteamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties and responsibilities in amanner consistent with our mission and values.

Education, Experience, & Licensing Requirements:

Education: Minimum of a High School diploma
