Job summary

St. Luke’s Hospital in Missouri is seeking a Cardiac Monitor Observer to monitor patients on cardiac monitors, interpret rhythms, and promptly communicate findings to the nursing staff. The role requires adherence to nursing standards and hospital policies, with a focus on teamwork and patient safety.

Under RN supervision, you will support the care team and contribute to delivering high-quality care in a value-driven environment. This position is based on-site at St. Luke’s Hospital.

Qualifications

• Education: Minimum of a High School diploma.

Responsibilities

• Observes a designated group of patients on cardiac monitors during a designated time frame.
• Identifies and interprets cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias.
• Documents observations and communicates them to the Charge Nurse, Registered Nurse, and/or Physician responsible for the patient.
• Adheres to Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies and promotes teamwork within the healthcare team.

Position Summary

Under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, performs the function of Cardiac Monitor Observer. This includes observing a designated group of patients on cardiac monitors during a designated time frame, identifying and interpreting cardiac rhythms and dysrhythmias, documenting this activity and communicating these observations to the Charge Nurse or Registered Nurse and/or Physician responsible for the care of the patient. Is responsible for adhering to all established Nursing Standards and Hospital Policies and for promoting teamwork with all members of the healthcare team. Performs duties and responsibilities in a manner consistent with our mission and values.
