Job summary

UAB Medicine in Alabama is seeking a registered nurse for the 7 North Cardiology Stepdown and Intermediate Care Unit with night shifts (7:00 PM–7:00 AM, Sat/Sun). You will provide direct nursing care, implement care plans, coordinate across disciplines, and assist with discharge planning for high-risk cardiology patients recovering from complex procedures.

BLS within 30 days and Alabama RN licensure are required.

Qualifications

• BLS Provider certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Licensed Associate Professional Registered Nurse credentialed by the Alabama Board of Nursing.
• Diploma from an accredited nursing program and licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care per established policies, procedures and protocols.
• Implement and monitor patient care plans; monitor, record and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
• Serve as a primary coordinator of all disciplines for well-coordinated patient care.
• Assess and coordinate patient's discharge planning needs with members of the healthcare team.
