Job summary

VHC Health in Arlington, VA is seeking an Assistant Patient Care Director to guide nursing units within a Magnet-certified health system. This leadership role focuses on administration, direct patient care, and coordinating with ancillary departments to advance excellent outcomes.

You will report to the Patient Care Director, bring a nursing degree, and demonstrate clinical leadership with a strong commitment to building a compassionate, high-performing team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing required.
• One year of experience in nursing / patient care required.
• One year of demonstrated leadership ability required.
• Licensed as a Registered Nurse by the Virginia Department of Health Professions or Compact State Licensure in Nursing is required.
• Certification in Area of Clinical Specialty is preferred.
• BLS Certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Direct nursing unit administration and coordinate activities with patient care director.
• Provide direct nursing care and coordinate with ancillary departments.
• Ensure staff performance appraisal criteria are met and nursing process followed.
