Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• Preferred: specialized training in basic patient care (CNA/MA) or at least 6 months experience in direct patient care.
• Receives on‑the job training and competency verification to perform primary functions.
• Maintains current training in BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider) and emergency response training.

Responsibilities

• Greet and direct customers; promote clear unit communication.
• Answer phones and relay messages; process information to appropriate staff.
• Monitor patients and document vital signs and actions in patient records.
• Assist with IV therapy lines, phlebotomy after training, and wound care under supervision.
• Support patient care activities: dressing changes, feeding assistance, and mobility support.
• Prepare rooms, stock supplies, transport specimens, and ensure unit cleanliness.
• Use EMR at unit secretary level; coordinate equipment and supply systems.
