Job summary

Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, IL is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to provide patient care in the 18-bed Cardiac ICU. The role requires ACLS, a nursing education program graduate, and a current RN license with state privileges.

Primary hours are 7pm to 7am, with potential cross-coverage as needed. Responsibilities include direct patient care, care planning, unit safety, documentation in the EHR, and participation in quality initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires ACLS certification.
• Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.
• Active RN license with privileges to practice in state(s) of service.
• BSN preferred as educational background.

Responsibilities

• Engage in unit councils, governance, and quality initiatives to improve care and apply evidence-based practice.
• Use nursing process to assess, plan, diagnose, implement, and evaluate care with patient/family involvement.
• Monitor patient conditions, adjust care plans, and collaborate with the care team.
• Uphold a culture of safety and ensure accurate electronic health record documentation.
• Float to other units or facilities as needed to meet patient care needs.
• Adhere to ANA Code of Ethics and professional standards.
