Job summary

Qualifications

• BSN preferred.
• Six months to a year of experience as a licensed RN or holder of an active GN permit.
• RN license in state of employment or compact
• BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Patient Care Planning: Develops a comprehensive nursing care plan addressing needs identified through nursing assessment.
• Prepares nursing elements of the interdisciplinary care plan prior to the initial team conference.
• Reviews and updates nursing care plan and collaborates with team members as changes occur.
• Implements patient care as planned in nursing care plan and interdisciplinary care plan.
• Sets priorities based on patient acuity and needs; provides safe and therapeutic care.
• Safely performs and documents procedures per policy.
• Evaluates patient response to interventions and progress toward goals with the team.
• Completes nursing progress notes and flow sheets daily.
• Teaching: assess education needs, adapt resources, and educate patients/families; acts as a role model and preceptor.
• Maintains patient confidentiality and effective communication within the care team.
