Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the CVICU to support critical care patients during nights. You will work under the supervision of ICU nurses and clinicians, delivering direct patient care and monitoring as part of a high-acuity team.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, and state-required CNA/PCT certifications or equivalent THR-approved program; BCLS and CPI training are expected. A fast-paced unit with room for growth and strong teamwork.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Acute experience preferred.
• TX CNA or PCT Training Program through NHA, NAHP and NCCT, accredited community college program or a THR approved program required upon hire.
• EMT – Emergency Medical Technician - Military experience with medic/medical training equivalent (Equivalent to EMT-B) required upon hire or
• Nursing student who has completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree program required upon hire or
• 1 year of applicable experience in lieu of an active and approved certification required upon hire
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to providing independent patient care and must be maintained quarterly.
• CPI - Crisis Prevention Intervention Training within 90 Days upon hire required

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance to patient according to plan of care.
• Collects patient data, identifies and reports significant findings to nurse.
• Provides and revises patient activities of daily living based on patient/family preferences.
• Takes action to reduce or eliminate patient risk.
• Enters orders into computer or manual system if applicable.
• Documents accurately and appropriately.
• Keeps patient environment clean and maintains safe environment.
