Job summary

Texas Health Dallas is seeking a Patient Care Tech (PCT) for the Cardiac Tele PCU. This full-time night shift role runs 7pm–7am, 36 hours weekly, with rotating weekends/holidays, providing essential care under nursing supervision in a 24-bed unit focused on post-interventional cardiac care.

The ideal candidate has a high school diploma, 1 year PCT experience, and BCLS; EMT or nursing student pathways may apply. CPI training within 90 days is required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 1 year PCT experience in an acute setting preferred.
• CNA or PCT training program required upon hire.
• EMT training or equivalent required upon hire.
• Nursing student who completed fundamentals or foreign nurse degree required upon hire.
• 1 year experience in lieu of active certification required upon hire.
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required prior to independent patient care.
• CPI training within 90 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic patient care under direction of nursing staff.
• Assist with feeding, bathing, dressing, grooming, or moving patients; change linens.
• Transfer or transport patients as needed.
• Enter orders into computer or manual system as applicable.
• Document accurately and appropriately.
• Adapt care to patient population in collaboration with the nurse.
