Job summary

Duke Cardiology of Raleigh is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to participate in screening medical histories, administer stress tests, and counsel on exercise equipment use, supporting patient care in the Duke Health system. The role involves performing a wide range of fitness assessments, supervising training sessions, and ensuring compliance with OSHA and Joint Commission standards.

A Master's degree and ACSM credentials are required, with ACLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in Exercise Physiology or Exercise Science.
• ACSM certification as Exercise Physiologist/Health Fitness/Group Exercise/Personal Trainer must obtain within 6 months.
• Level II requires ACSM Clinical Exercise Physiologist and ACLS.
• Strong ECG interpretation skills required.
• Experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe; Epic EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Conduct treadmill stress testing with 12-lead ECG interpretation per protocol.
• Assist with oversight of clinical programs and supervise exercise sessions.
• Maintain supplies and monitor stress lab equipment maintenance.
• Prepare for JCAHO reviews and ensure patient safety and readiness.
• Maintain inventory for Cardiac Diagnostic Unit and ensure regulatory compliance.
