Job summary

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, part of the Optum family, is seeking an Exercise Physiologist to support the Cardiology Lab across stress testing and related procedures. You will conduct patient histories, perform EKGs, calibrate equipment, and ensure accurate documentation while delivering excellent patient service.

The role requires a Bachelor’s (and often a Master’s) in Exercise Physiology, BLS/ALS certification, and experience with cardiology testing.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science or related field.
• 6+ months of experience in an exercise testing laboratory, cardiac rehabilitation facility or corporate health setting.
• BLS and ALS certification through American Heart Association.
• Basic computer, CRT, and typing experience.
• Familiarity with testing equipment such as Marquette EKG machines and treadmill control systems.
• Willingness to work extended shifts as needed.

Responsibilities

• Conducts patient history interviews and stress test worksheets.
• Performs resting EKGs and electrode placement.
• Fits and removes Holter monitors and pacemaker checks.
• Maintains documentation and adheres to lab policies.
• Communicates with cardiologists, physicians, and lab staff.
• Provides patient service and supports stress testing procedures.
• Prepares exercise prescriptions and delivers patient consultations.
• Participates in meetings and process improvements.
• Responds to codes and assists with CPR as needed.
