Job summary

Jobtailor in New Jersey seeks a qualified Clinical Exercise Physiologist to lead cardiac testing and rehab activities, ensuring precise ECG interpretation and patient safety throughout diverse stress tests.

Requirements include a Master of Science in Clinical Exercise Science or Exercise Physiology, ACSM CEP or CCI credentials within 6 months, BLS and ACLS (ACLS post hire possible), and hands-on experience with treadmill and pharmacologic stress tests as well as Holter monitoring.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Clinical Exercise Science / Exercise Physiology is required.
• ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP) or CCI Certified Cardiographer Technician under consideration within 6 months of hire.
• BLS Certification required; ACLS Certification may be obtained post hire.

Responsibilities

• Accurately identify patients using two approved patient identifiers.
• Inform patients regarding procedure and expectations prior to exam.
• Prepare patients for testing, apply electrodes and ECG leads correctly.
• Review patient history and medications prior to testing.
• Alert supervising physician of contraindications or concerns before tests.
• Administer resting electrocardiograms and supervise exercise stress tests.
• Document vitals, treadmill speed/grade, and signs during rest, exercise, and recovery.
• Complete and submit documentation for physician review according to guidelines.
• Administer and supervise Holter monitors and ensure proper scanning.
• Notify physicians of urgent signs/symptoms and maintain equipment per guidelines.

Job description

• Accurately identify patients using two approved patient identifiers.
• Inform patients regarding the procedure and expectations prior to the start of the exam.
• Prepare patients for testing, properly apply electrodes and ECG leads.
• Review patient history and medications prior to testing.
• Alert supervising physician of any contraindications or concerns prior to administering a test.
• Administer resting electrocardiograms.
• Administer and supervise clinical exercise stress tests, including treadmill stress exercise, pharmacologic stress testing, and stress component of nuclear stress tests and combination stress-echo testing.
• Accurately document patient vitals, treadmill speed and grade, and all signs and symptoms at rest, exercise, and recovery.
• Accurately complete and submit all documentation for physician review according to department guidelines.
• Administer, instruct patients, remove, and scan Holter monitors.
• Notify physicians of any urgent signs and symptoms.
• Maintain and clean equipment according to department guidelines.

Requirements

• Master of Science degree in Clinical Exercise Science /Exercise Physiology required.
• Clinical experience in cardiac testing, Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation, or related field.
• ACSM Certified Clinical Exercise Physiologist (CEP), or CCI Certified Cardiographer Technician certification may be obtained within 6 months of hire at the discretion of the facility manager.
• BLS Certification required.
• ACLS Certification required (may be obtained post hire).
• Proficiency in ECG rhythm recognition and 12-lead ECG interpretation.
• Annual Attendance of Case Conference Clinical Supervision of Exercise Testing by Non-Physician Healthcare Professionals required.
