Job summary

Halifax Health is seeking an EKG Technician to perform electrocardiograms, Holter monitors, arterial Dopplers, exercise stress tests and related cardiology procedures. The role also requires typing, transcription, filing, charting and other duties.

Full-time position with preferred one year experience or EKG course. In-house phlebotomy training (2-3 weeks) and competency are required. Prepare and file cardiovascular reports and assist with QA surveys while maintaining equipment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year experience or EKG certificate/course preferred.
• Certified Electrocardiology Tech preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform Electrocardiograms (EKG) and Holter monitoring.
• Administer stress tests and arterial dopplers as ordered.
• Transcribe reports and maintain accurate patient charts.
• File reports and assist with QA and education activities.
• Maintain and calibrate EKG equipment and ensure electrical safety.
