Job summary

HCP Talent in the Greater New Orleans area is seeking a highly autonomous Cardiac Echo Ultrasound Technologist to join its diagnostic imaging team, delivering expert cardiac imaging across multiple sites.

In this three-site role you will perform complex Doppler and transthoracic studies, own patient flow and reporting, assist during guided procedures, and ensure a patient-centered, HIPAA-compliant experience.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Cardiac Ultrasound Sonography program (Bachelor’s a plus).
• RDCS credential required or registry-eligible with certification within 1 year.
• Active state licensure or permit to practice medical imaging.
• BLS certification required.
• Minimum of two years of hands-on imaging experience as Cardiac Ultrasound Sonographer.
• Strong clinical autonomy and ability to work under indirect management.
• Excellent patient communication; able to assist and position patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Rotate across three local clinics to support regional patient volume.
• Perform complex diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures including Doppler and transthoracic studies.
• Own patient scheduling flow, clinical quality, and imaging operations with indirect supervision.
• Select transducers and calibrate equipment according to target anatomy and protocol.
• Prepare preliminary ultrasound reports, measurements, and impressions for reviewing physicians.
• Assist physicians during ultrasound-guided biopsies and invasive cardiac procedures.
• Explain procedures to patients and ensure a safe, comfortable experience.
• Enter test parameters and patient data into EMR/PACS; maintain HIPAA compliance.
