Qualifications

• Some states require a license to practice as a cardiac sonographer.
• RDCS credential from ARDMS or ARRT eligibility is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiograms and ultrasound examinations to image the heart.
• Explain procedures to patients and prepare them for testing.
• Operate ultrasound equipment and adjust settings for image quality.
• Review preliminary results and report abnormalities to the cardiologist.
• Document patient information, test results and image findings in the medical record.
• Collaborate with cardiologists and healthcare team to ensure accurate diagnosis and treatment plans.
