Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation and techniques.
• Knowledge of cardiac anatomy and physiology.
• Excellent interpersonal and patient service skills.
• Intermediate computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform cardiac ultrasound procedures (M-mode, 2-D, Doppler, Color Flow) and measure features to ensure accurate results.
• Identify cardiac abnormalities and extend the scope of the examination as needed.
• Prepare patients, collect history, and adapt imaging to obtain diagnostic echocardiograms.
• Assist in transesophageal studies and assist cardiologists in complex procedures.
• Communicate findings to staff and maintain echocardiography lab equipment.
• Maintain records and monitor lab statistics; ensure patient age-appropriate care.
• Demonstrate age-specific patient care and follow departmental policies.
