Job summary

Responsibilities

• Obtain patient history and perform pre-ultrasound assessment; verify the exam ordered matches patient history and indication, clarifying with the ordering physician if needed.
• Interact with patients, explain the procedure, reassure them, and obtain cooperation during the exam.
• Perform routine and complex cardiac ultrasound procedures including echocardiograms and stress echocardiograms (treadmill, Dobutamine, bicycle ergometry).
• Assist with TEE probe handling, imaging acquisition, and post-procedure cleaning and disinfection per protocol.
• Maintain data organization and communicate critical values to the interpreting physician; assist in interpretive sessions as needed.
• Participate in departmental quality initiatives, on-call coverage, and education of students and residents.
