Job summary

Mount Sinai Morningside is seeking an Echo Technician to perform quality echocardiographic studies and support physicians in diagnosing and monitoring cardiac conditions. The role blends technical skill with patient-centered care to deliver accurate, timely results.

Responsibilities include patient preparation, image acquisition, data documentation in Epic/Studycast, and adherence to QA/QC and infection control standards. ARDMS/ARDMS RVT certification completion within the first year is required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of ARDMS within one year of hire.
  • SPI Certification and ARDMS/RVT certification must be completed within one year of hire.
  • Graduate from an accredited Ultrasound Technician program.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and examines patients for ultrasound examinations, verifies identity and medical history.
  • Explains exam procedures to patients and answers questions.
  • Adjusts scanning technique to optimize image quality and waveform characteristics.
  • Records images and data for physician review and archival purposes.
  • Maintains infection control and equipment cleanliness.
