Under the general direction of the Director of Cardiology Services, the Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer performs diagnostic echocardiograms for subsequent interpretation by a Cardiologist.

This role includes performing M-mode, 2D, and color/Doppler exams, managing patient positioning, and ensuring accurate documentation and billing while supporting TEE procedures and interdepartmental collaboration.

Qualifications

• 1 year of formal training or equivalent experience with equipment
• Current CPR certification
• 2–3 years of dedicated cardiac experience

Responsabilités

• Performs echocardiograms (M-mode, 2D, color/Doppler) per ARDMS protocol
• Obtains clinical history and documents findings
• Performs Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE) prep, procedure support and post-procedure tasks
• Maintains clean exam areas, disinfects equipment and restocks supplies
• Keeps records, manages billing-related data and supplies
• Collaborates with other cardiovascular and hospital testing areas
• Maintains quality records and participates in mentorship and education
• Pursues ongoing professional development and literature review
• Manages Heartlab system image storage and data editing
• Applies age-appropriate care for patients of all ages
