Job summary

Park Nicollet Health Services in Minnesota seeks a Registered Sonographer to join its Cardiology noninvasive laboratory. You will perform echocardiographic studies on adult patients, including M-Mode, 2D, Doppler, contrast, and stress echocardiography, contributing to accurate diagnostic interpretations.

The role requires registration (RDCS/RCS within 1 year or upon hire), BLS, and strong knowledge of cardiac anatomy and hemodynamics.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a allied health diagnostic program or received training on the job specific to echocardiography.
• Registration as a RDCS or RCS within 1 year of hire or if trained on the job registration required at hire.
• BLS required.
• Knowledge of electrocardiography and arrhythmias and conduction disturbances.
• Knowledge of sterile technique.
• Knowledge of mathematical principals including algebra.
• Ability to operate computerized echocardiographic equipment.

Responsibilities

• Perform echocardiographic procedures on adult patients in the Cardiology Noninvasive Laboratory, including M-Mode, 2D, contrast, and Doppler echocardiography.
• Perform stress echocardiography and dobutamine echocardiography.
• Assist with transesophageal echocardiograms at bedside and in the operating room.
• Recognize and report equipment problems and malfunctions.
• Maintain proficiency by continuing education.
