Job summary

Ochsner Health is seeking a skilled sonographer to perform diagnostic cardiac ultrasound procedures, including echo with Doppler and Color Flow imaging, and to compile patient data and preliminary findings for clinical teams.

This role requires educational prerequisites and ARDMS/CCI certifications with potential for growth, and requires flexibility in scheduling to meet patient needs. BLS is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Preferred – 1 year of experience in cardiac ultrasound.
• Active RDCS credential or RCS credential within 6 months of completing the required 12 month clinical experience period.
• BLS from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Performs diagnostic sonographic procedures including echocardiograms (2D/M mode, Doppler, Color Flow).
• Compiles history and diagnostic information; presents preliminary findings.
• Provides high quality patient care and collaborates with health care team.
• Prepares, educates, and instructs patients on procedures.
• Documents and maintains records; ensures compliance with standards.
