Qualifications

• Completion of a CAHEA approved formal training program in Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
• RDMS or registry eligible within 1 year of hire.
• Advanced certification in area(s) of specialty as required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.

Responsibilities

• Verifies physician order and procedure to assure accuracy.
• Operates imaging equipment per protocol.
• Explains procedure to patient to ensure understanding.
• Independently operates imaging equipment for procedures and assists radiologists.
• Reviews patient images prior to transmission for diagnostic quality.
• Assists in departmental operations and equipment maintenance.
