Job summary

Kansas City Heart Rhythm in the Kansas City area is seeking a Cardiac Device Technician PRN/Full-time to support device interrogation, reprogramming and remote monitoring. You will collaborate with EP nurses and physicians, document analyses in EMR and educate patients about follow-up care.

The role requires two years of cardiovascular tech experience, CCDS/CDRMS certification and BLS; travel to regional clinics is expected, with daytime M-F schedules and no on-call nights.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years’ experience as a Cardiovascular/Cardiology Technician.
• Two years’ experience analyzing and reprogramming pacemakers, ICDs, ILRs and CRT devices from multiple manufacturers.
• Current experience reviewing and managing remote device transmissions preferred.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interrogate, interpret, and re-program cardiac devices with minimal physician supervision.
• Troubleshoot critical device issues and take immediate steps toward resolution.
• Collaborate with EP nurses, physicians, vendor representatives and non-physicians with direct patient care, device status and accurately document device analysis in EMR for review.
• Educate patients on all aspects of their device including remote monitoring and follow-up protocol.
• Ensure charges are accurately captured for device interrogation.
• Enrollment, scheduling, education, and maintenance of patients in various remote monitoring platforms.
• Monitor patients following established protocols.
• Schedule patients for device follow up in EMR and remote websites; contact no-show patients to re-schedule.
• Travel to regional or satellite offices for device clinics.
• Promote a healthy clinical environment and good working relationships; serve as a resource to physicians and staff.
• Keep equipment in good working condition and notify appropriate personnel of safety issues.
