Job summary

Cardiovascular Care Clinic in Saint Joseph, MO, seeks a CMA Cardiac Device Technician to evaluate, program, and support patients with pacemakers and ICDs. The role operates on-site under the Clinic Manager, performing clinical and technical assessments and coordinating device-related orders.

Required are a CMA or RMA credential, BLS within 90 days, and 2 years of cardiology experience with arrhythmia interpretation. Travel to off-site locations may be required.

Qualifications

• H.S. Diploma is required
• 2 years cardiology clinical experience with arrhythmia interpretation is required
• Complete competency in device training from manufacturer or hospital
• Ability to type 40 wpm and input data

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of the heart’s conduction system and pacing/defibrillation devices
• Evaluate and program pacemakers and ICDs and understand pacing/sensing concepts
• Assist with clinical research projects related to these devices
• Maintain pacemaker repository files and device documentation
• Know and maintain all device clinic equipment
• Coordinate telephonic testing
• Triage pacemaker/defibrillator calls
• Liaise with pacemaker manufacturers
• Stay updated with technology developments
• Enter provider orders from verbal/telephone orders
• Possibility to function as Cardiovascular Technician when needed
• Other duties as assigned
• Work off clinic protocols and enter orders
