Job summary

Mary Washington Healthcare in Fredericksburg, VA is looking for a Level II Competent Registered Nurse who will deliver total, continuous, and patient-centered care. You will collaborate with the healthcare team to apply evidenced-based practice and the nursing process across assigned patients.

This role emphasizes leading care delivery, discharge planning, and participation in quality and performance improvement activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program and has experience as a Registered Nurse.
• 1-year Cardiac Operating Room experience, required.
• For internal associates only: CBOT competency training within 9 months of placement.
• Valid RN License from Virginia or reciprocal compact state required.
• BSN is required.
• AHA BLS Provider CPR required at hire

Responsibilities

• Direct and coordinate nursing care with the interdisciplinary team.
• Coordinate patient/family teaching and discharge planning.
• Communicate and coordinate the plan of care with health team members.
• Assist Leadership to define standards of excellence for patient care.
• Participate in performance improvement and quality activities.
• Participate in orientation of new staff.
• Act as point of contact on hospital policies for nurses.
• Participate in daily operational activities for safe care.
• Provide input to the Nurse Manager about unit needs.
• Participate in committees for nursing and hospital policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
