Job summary

Banner Health's Open Heart Surgery CVOR in Mesa, AZ seeks an Associate Director RN to provide managerial and clinical leadership for a high-volume CVOR. This exempt role guides nursing teams, partners with surgeons and anesthesia, ensures safe, cost-conscious patient care, and supports staff across multiple perioperative units.

The position requires a BSN or MSN, an active RN license, and at least two years of clinical management experience. Master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• BSN or MSN required for all new hires.
• Current RN license in state of practice.
• Two years of clinical management experience relevant to patient population.
• BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Manages and facilitates patient-centered nursing care for designated populations.
• Leads quality and process improvement initiatives with department leadership.
• Oversees staff hiring, orientation, coaching and performance evaluations.
• Manages unit operations, budgets and resource utilization.
• Supports leadership development and succession planning across the unit.
