Job summary

Piedmont Heart Institute Physicians in Macon, GA seeks a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner to join the Cardiac Critical Care team. This full-time night position covers critically ill adult patients under supervision of the attending physician, with responsibility for direct patient care and rapid response in a high-acuity setting.

The role requires an accredited PA or NP program degree with national certification and GA licensure; ICU/CCU experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• PA/NP clinical qualifications required.
• ICU/CCU experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct clinical services for critically ill adults under physician supervision.
• Formulate and implement treatment plans for acute illness.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Perform approved diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
• Manage arterial/central lines, chest tubes, ECMO-related tasks as accredited.
• Perform CPR and administer life-support meds per protocols; assist ECMO cannulations.
• Monitor patient status and initiate emergency interventions when needed.
• Contribute to clinical research and serve as education consultant.
