Primarily responsible for preparing patients for catheterization procedures and directly assisting the attending physicians during procedures. Will be responsible for patient hemodynamic monitoring, recording, and report generating when not scrubbed in to a procedure. Assists in the care and stocking of instruments, equipment, and supplies. Assists in the transportation of patients and with housekeeping duties to maintain cleanliness of the department. Must comply with hospital and department policies and procedures and work with supervisors to meet DNV, JCAHO, and hospital standards. This position may have scribing responsibilities.

High school diploma or GED. Competent in maintaining sterile technique. Knowledge of hemodynamic waveforms and pressures; experience in cardiac catheterization or similar procedures preferred.
CPR certification required upon employment. RCIS preferred.
Ability to work under stress, demonstrate technical competency, comply with policies, and maintain professional relationships. Effective communication with hospital and medical team members.
Works closely with Central Supply, Sterile Processing, and Cath Lab Materials Management. Interacts with OPS, ICU, Pediatrics, Physicians, Nursing, Transportation, Housekeeping, Chemistry, Patient Services, and Volunteers. Must communicate effectively and respectfully with all.
Moderate physical demand. Standing, sitting, wearing protective aprons, lifting instruments and patients with assistance, visual acuity, hand/eye coordination, hearing, and verbal communication required.
Indoor, high-stress, fast-paced environment. Exposure to blood-borne pathogens. Long and irregular hours, including on-call duties.
