Job summary

Umcelpaso is seeking an experienced Radiology/Interventional Tech to perform cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures under the guidance of senior staff. The role requires precision in imaging and adherence to Joint Commission standards.

Candidate should have at least one year of cath lab or neuro intervention experience, with MRT/RCIS/CVT certification and BLS; ACLS within six months is preferred.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in cardiac catheterization, Interventional Radiology, or Neuro Intervention.
• ARRT MRT with R certification required, or RCIS/CVT; may be completed within six months.
• BLS certification required; ACLS required or within six months of start.
• High School diploma or equivalent; Associate’s degree in Radiology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Performs a wide range of cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures using x‑rays.
• Acquire knowledge of Joint Commission and Radiology standards and participate in performance improvement data collection and presentation.

Job description

Under the guidance of the Supervisor of Cardiac Catheterization/Interventional Radiology or Invasive Tech I, performs a wide range of cardiac, interventional radiology and neurointerventional procedures using x-rays. Acquires knowledge regarding the Joint Commission (TJC) and Radiology standards. Seeks direction from the Cardiovascular, Radiology and Neuro Intervention Medical Directors for the purpose of performance improvement data collection and presentation.

Work Experience:

One year of experience in cardiac catherization Interventional Radiology or Neuro Intervention required.

License/Registration/Certification:

Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) with Registered Technologist (R) (ARRT) required. or

Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS), or Cardiovascular Technologist (CVT) required; may be completed within six months of assuming the position.

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) required; may be completed within six months of assuming the position.

Education and Training:

High School diploma or equivalent required.

Associate’s degree of Applied Sciences in Radiology preferred.

Skills:

• Knowledge in appropriate Charge Description Master and CPT (Current Procedural Terminology).
• Knowledge of operating cath lab equipment and performing diagnostic imaging.
• Excellent knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and medical terminology.
• Ability to stay calm under pressure and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
