Job summary

Geisinger is seeking a Cardiac Cath RN to provide primary nursing support in the diagnosis and treatment context. The role emphasizes patient education, teamwork, and adherence to treatment plans, with on-call duties for L1HAP and a Wednesday to Friday or rotating schedule as needed.

The position includes a $15,000 recruitment loan incentive paid over 2 years and requires contributing to a collaborative clinic environment with attention to asepsis and accurate data entry.

Qualifications

• RN experience with Telemetry, ED and/or ICU preferred, but not required.
• On-Call duties for Level 1 Heart Attack Program with rotating nights and every 3rd weekend.
• 8-hour shift, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.
• Provide patient education and assist providers to facilitate diagnosis and treatment.
• Assist in day-to-day clinic activities and maintain asepsis and equipment readiness.

Responsibilities

• Triage sick calls to facilitate appropriate treatment plans.
• Document patient history, chief complaint, vital signs, and prepare patient for examinations.
• Oversee chart checks to ensure completed tests are available for provider visits.
• Assist providers in procedures to support accurate diagnosis and treatment.
• Collect and prepare laboratory specimens and complete related paperwork.
• Document ongoing patient communication and educate patients on medications and treatments.
• Insert, monitor, regulate and discontinue IVs as required.
• Maintain and sterilize instruments, prep procedure rooms between cases.
