Job summary

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC. This role supports a 136-bed facility with a verified trauma center and advanced Cath Lab operations, serving district residents in a growing integrated care system.

Providing clinical care, staff orientation, equipment operation, and patient education, you will play a key role in cardiac imaging and interventions within a multidisciplinary team in a dynamic hospital

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience.
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist program.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential from CCI obtained within 1 year from hire date.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver care to the patient in a competent, capable, caring, and efficient manner.
  • Assess, observe, report, and record signs and symptoms indicative of changes in the general condition of the patient.
  • Assess, observe, and report pertinent and significant patient responses to treatments and/or procedures.
  • Provide patient and/or family members with explanation of condition as necessary and written information when possible.
  • Recognize and utilize opportunities for health teaching of patients and relatives.
  • Participate in on-unit clinical orientation of supplemental and/or new staff to include principles related to patient care management.
  • Operate the Physiological Monitor, Philips Radiography Equipment, and Intra-Vascular Ultrasound equipment used in the Cath Lab.
  • Recognize cardiac dysrhythmias and inform physicians and nurses.
  • Perform a variety of clinical interventions as specified in the department's competency/skills checklist.
  • Responsible for taking calls and performing the duties required by the patient and physician.
  • Responsible for quality control of all technology equipment located in the cardiac Cath Lab.
  • Transport patients and clean room/stretchers as required.
  • Perform a variety of service and administrative tasks.

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health opened its doors in April 2025 as the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 25 years! Integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8, this enhanced integrated delivery system will establish a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it will ensure residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. Our advanced hospital will offer 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, onsite 550-car parking garage, and a helipad for emergency transport.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

  • Recognize cardiac dysrhythmias and inform physicians and nurses.
  • Perform a variety of clinical interventions as specified in the department's competency/skills checklist.
  • Responsible for taking calls and performing the duties required by the patient and physician.
  • Responsible for quality control of all technology equipment located in the cardiac Cath Lab.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Degree in related field (BA, BS, BSN, AA) or years of equivalent experience.
  • Two or more years of Cath Lab and/or Electrophysiology experience.
  • Completion of an accredited Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist program.
  • Professional experience that demonstrates ability to understand the clinical practice environment.
  • Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) credential from the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) obtained within 1 year from hire date required.
