HCA Houston Healthcare North Cypress is seeking a Cardiac Cath Lab Technologist for PRN opportunities in Cypress, TX. You will work with physicians to support complex cardiac procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout the care journey.

Responsibilities include preparing patients, operating advanced equipment, and monitoring responses while maintaining a sterile environment. Relevant ARRT/RCIS/BCLS/ACLS certifications are required or in progress.

Qualifications

• Cath Lab experience required for the role.
• ARRT and Radiology Technologist certification in Texas or RCIS under supervision.
• Current BCLS certification.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of employment.
• Demonstrated clinical competence and annual skills checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures (angiograms, angioplasties, stent placements).
• Prepare and support patients and families before/during/after procedures.
• Operate and maintain cath lab equipment to deliver safe treatment.
• Monitor patient responses with vigilance and compassion.
• Maintain sterile, safe environment and advocate for each patient.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Assisting physicians with complex cardiac and vascular procedures, including angiograms, angioplasties, and stent placements
• Preparing and supporting patients and families with care, education, and reassurance before, during, and after procedures
• Operating and maintaining advanced equipment to deliver safe and effective treatment
• Monitoring patient responses with vigilance and compassion to ensure the highest level of care
• Safeguarding a sterile, safe environment while serving as an advocate for every patient

What qualifications you will need:

*Cath Lab Experience Required*

• ARRT and Radiology Technologist – Texas Department of Health or
• RCIS
  • RCIS staff members who do not hold an ARRT certification:
  • Must be under the direct supervision of a licensed practitioner credentialed for invasive procedures (e.g., Cardiologist, Radiologist, or Vascular Surgeon); and
  • Must comply with all applicable state laws, rules, and regulations governing the performance of radiologic procedures.
• Current BCLS certification required.
• Demonstrated current clinical competence, as outlined in the appropriate orientation checklist
• Maintains competency on a consistent basis (i.e. Annual Skills Checklist)
• Challenges EKG test, or takes EKG course.
• ACLS certification within 6 months of employment
• Thorough technical knowledge

Able to deal with stressful situations and to stand for long periods of time
