Job summary

Methodist Dallas Medical Center is a 595-bed acute care teaching and referral hospital and flagship of Methodist Health System.

The Cardiovascular Tech RCIS assists with invasive cardiovascular procedures under physician direction, including scrub and circulator duties, patient monitoring, and imaging. Requirements include an Associate or Bachelor’s degree, ACLS, RCIS within 18 months, and ARR T/TX RT(R) eligibility.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s degree in science or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current American Heart Association Advanced Cardio Life Support (ACLS) certification.
• RCIS certification within eighteen (18) months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during any procedure in the cath lab by interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs and operating physiologic recorder.
• Assists physician with most procedures as a scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under direction of physician.
• Assists physician with some diagnostic procedures as a circulator by monitoring patient status during a procedure and handing supplies.
