Job summary

Methodist Richardson Medical Center is seeking a Cardiovascular Tech RCIS to assist with invasive cardiovascular procedures under supervision. The role involves monitoring, scrubbing, and circulating during cath lab procedures, and requires current ACLS, RCIS or ARRT/TX RT(R) credentials.

The position emphasizes patient safety, equipment operation, and collaboration with physicians and staff in a busy cath lab setting. This on-site role supports a leading cardiology program in the Dallas area.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelors degree in a science field or commensurate healthcare experience.
• Current AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification.
• RCIS certification within six months of date of hire.
• ARRT and TX RT(R) required in lieu of RCIS.

Responsibilities

• Assists in teaching and orientation of students and new staff.
• Assists physician as a monitor tech during procedures in the cath lab, interpreting dysrhythmia and EKGs, and operating physiologic recorder.
• Acts as scrub tech and operates imaging equipment under physician direction.
• Assists with circulator duties, monitors patient status during procedures, and hands supplies to the scrub tech.
• Transports patients to and from the department, cleans and stocks cath lab, and maintains sterile technique.
• Orders supplies for cath lab and manages inventory; assists with post-procedure safety and hemostasis.
