Job summary

The Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Cardiovascular Specialist I to support invasive cardiac procedures in the New York area. You will prepare rooms, assist the health care team with hemodynamic monitoring, and maintain equipment and supplies.

Responsibilities include sterile preparation, instrument setup, patient transfer, and adherence to aseptic practice. A Bachelor's degree is strongly preferred; foreign MDs may substitute. BLS is required, ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree strongly preferred; foreign MD who has passed MBBS may substitute.
• Registered Cardiovascular Specialist (RCIS/RVS) preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile techniques to prepare room, equipment table, and provide quality care to patients.
• Monitor equipment to ensure proper working condition during procedures and alert care team of changes.
• Retrieve supplies under physicians' and nurses' direction during the procedure as needed.
• Restock procedure room and lab areas to par levels after each procedure.
• Participate in product evaluations and assist in rotablator procedures.
• Turn on and check all equipment at the start of the day and troubleshoot as needed.
• Assist in managing monitoring equipment, intravascular ultrasound, pacemakers, and IABP pumps.
• Assist in patient transport and transfer to the procedure table.
• Perform duties according to established guidelines and assist in aseptic technique.
