Job summary

The Registered Nurse in the Cath Lab, EP, and Hybrid Vascular Surgery environment provides specialized nursing care across pre- and post-procedure holding areas and procedure rooms. Collaboration with cardiologists, electrophysiologists, vascular surgeons, radiologic technologists, and anesthesia ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current RN licensure in the State of Illinois.
• Current BLS certification; ACLS required.
• Previous critical care, emergency, cardiac, or procedural nursing experience preferred.
• Cath Lab, EP, vascular, or procedural nursing experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and provide pre- and post-procedure care.
• Prepare patients for cardiac, electrophysiology, vascular, and hybrid procedures.
• Establish and maintain IV access and administer medications, including moderate sedation and critical cardiovascular medications.
• Monitor patients continuously during procedures and recognize and respond to changes in clinical condition.
• Assist physicians during cardiac catheterization, PCI, EP procedures, ablations, device implants, and vascular/endovascular procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure appropriate completion of orders and procedural records.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to promote patient safety, procedural efficiency, and positive patient outcomes.
