Job summary

Stony Brook Medicine is seeking a Registered Nurse 1 (T&RC) for Cardiac Cath Lab on a full-time day shift. The role involves nursing assessments, care planning, direct patient care, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred candidates have a BSN and at least one year of acute care hospital experience, with cath lab and cardiology exposure valued. Excellent pre-employment screenings and compliance with NYS license requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Possession of or eligibility for a license to practice as a registered nurse in New York State.

Responsibilities

• Assess the patient’s condition and nursing needs and coordinate care with other health disciplines.
• Develop and implement an individualized care plan including teaching needs and discharge planning.
• Administer direct care and medications as required.
• Maintain infection control and a safe care environment.
• Communicate patient status changes to the care team.
• Document and teach patient/family and ensure alignment with physician instructions.
• Contribute to quality assurance activities.
