Job summary

Barnes-Jewish Hospital at Washington University Medical Center is seeking an Outpatient Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab. This role is onsite at the WashU Heart Care Institute on Barnes Jewish West County Campus, with Monday–Friday hours and no nights or weekends.

The RN coordinates care, educates patients, and supports overall unit goals. Preferred candidates have 1–2 years in Cardiac Cath Lab or related areas and 2–5 years of nursing experience.

Qualifications

• Nursing diploma or associate's degree required.
• RN license in good standing.
• 1–2 years Cardiac Cath Lab or related experience strongly preferred.
• 2–5 years total nursing experience.

Responsibilities

• Facilitates patient care by assessing and evaluating patient’s physical, psychosocial and emotional needs.
• Coordinates the delivery of safe and appropriate patient care governed by evidence-based clinical practice.
• Monitors care and data to optimize patient outcomes.
• Facilitates patient and family education; acts as a resource to the health care team.
• Ensures actions meet and support the overall goals of the unit and hospital.
