RWJBarnabas Health in Hamilton, NJ is seeking a Lead Technician for the Cardiac Catheter Lab. This hourly position supports patient safety, performs technical tasks during pre- and post-catheterization, and helps manage workflow and staffing under an RN supervision.

A high school diploma or equivalent is required; clinical experience such as Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, or LPN is preferred. Proficiency with EPIC and Microsoft Office is expected.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Clinical setting education/experience preferred (Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, LPN, or Cath Lab training).
• Complete Orientation programs and telemetry class or NetLearning module.
• Ability to lead workflows, mentor peers, manage schedules, and communicate with the healthcare team.
• Computer proficiency including EPIC and MS Word/Excel.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise during pre- and post-catheterization procedures, phlebotomy, EKGs, and telemetry.
• Manage daily unit workflow and patient throughput, transportation, and cross-department testing coordination.
• Coordinate scheduling for pre-admission testing, procedures, and follow-ups.
• Oversee shift-to-shift operations and proper charting and filing for pre-catheterization cases.
• Enter lab and radiology orders in EPIC and document communications with the care team.
• Train and mentor junior technicians in lab workflows and patient prep.
• Audit performance data and support leadership evaluations and improvement projects.
• Document nursing/physician communication to enable rapid clinical response and handoffs.
• Troubleshoot inventory, track par levels, and restock supplies for a clean environment.
• Prepare clinical documentation, process venipunctures, and ensure timely lab delivery.
