Job summary

Frederick Health seeks a Registered Nurse for the Cardiac Cath Lab to provide direct patient care and leadership within the department. You will perform rounds, coordinate staffing, and ensure patient safety while supporting teaching and quality improvement initiatives.

Must hold a Maryland RN license and a BSN or compatible agreement; CPR certification is required and recent cath lab experience is preferred. The role includes on-call responsibilities and late case coverage.

Qualifications

• Eligible for or currently licensed as a registered nurse in the State of Maryland.
• Registered nurse with BSN, or BSN agreement with degree achieved within 5 years from the start of the position.
• Certified in CPR and/or other appropriate certifications.
• Clinical competency in their departmental area of practice, minimum 2 years of experience in clinical area of practice.
• Achieve certification in area of appropriate clinical specialty after two years of clinical experience or within 1 year in Charge nurse role.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and provides direct patient care in accordance with accepted nursing standards while utilizing the nursing process.
• Makes frequent patient rounds to assure quality, customer service and appropriateness of patient care; identifies areas for improvement and plans for change.
• Prepares patient care assignments considering staff skill mix, competence, and patient needs.
• Maintains safe patient care environment and coordinates departmental safety checks.
• Oversees documentation, metrics, and quality standards; contributes to PI activities and education.
• Leads unit huddles, staff coaching, and scheduling discussions to meet departmental goals.
