Job summary

Wayne UNC Health Care in Wayne County, NC is seeking a Monitoring Technician/Nursing Assistant I to oversee telemetry monitoring and provide timely notification to RNs of rhythm changes. You will perform Nursing Assistant I duties under supervision and contribute to a collaborative care team.

Responsibilities include interpreting EKG rhythms, recording data, documenting care, and maintaining patient safety.

Qualifications

Completion of Basic EKG training with a minimum passing score of 85%.
Completion of state approved Level I Nurse Aide training and competency evaluation program or its equivalent.
High School Diploma or equivalent required, any higher education from an accredited college will supersede this requirement.

Responsibilities

Monitor telemetry and interpret all EKG rhythms to provide timely information to RNs.
Provide direct patient care by preparing patients for monitoring and assisting with routine bedside tasks.
Notify the supervising nurse promptly of abnormal vital signs or changes in condition.
Document patient care accurately according to unit standards and maintain clear records.
